"Bing" the Robot!
Say hello to "Bing" the Robot! He is 6' 9" tall, single, and enjoys video games and destroying stuff with his ray gun. It took 16 days of working until 1-2 am to get him done in time for his TV debut on "King of the Nerds." This was a difficult sculpture to build because I had to connect steel to aluminum and such. Lots of tap and die work. It weighs a TON!

Instruments of American Excellence is Most Excellent!
Here is my colorfully rubber dipped screwdriver at the Instruments of American Excellence exhibit at The Kentucky Museum. A friend happened to see the exhibit and took this photo for me.
A collection of the original instruments by which Americans have achieved extraordinary success.
This unique collection showcases the ordinary means by which Americans from many fields of study have achieved extraordinary things-- the actual "tools" that have shaped the course of this nation's history. Serving to educate and inspire, these items remind us that the actual instruments used by the highest of achievers are not magical or highly unusual, but rather that the attainment of excellence is often achieved only by the imagination and perseverance that personify the American spirit.

Industrial Gears Coffee Table - Completed!
This is the new Gears Table by renowned Los Angeles sculptor Bruce Gray. It is made from 35 industrial gears in steel, brass, and stainless steel. It is 16 1/2" tall with a 2 ft x 4 ft piece of 1/2" thick glass for the top. This stunning and unique coffee table was commissioned, so it is not available, but Bruce will be happy to make you your own Gears Table for $6000.
Bruce says that "It was quite a challenge keeping all the gears on the proper vertical or horizontal plane during the welding process, especially since the gears have almost completely been welded from the underside only, to give it the impression that the gears may actually move and function somehow. This is one of my favorite creations I have ever done. I was expecting to have to do some adjustments to get it perfectly level on all 4 points for the glass, but to my surprise it was exactly right on. I think that anyone who welds and does complex metal fabrication can appreciate that."
